Gerald H. Westby Jr.
The Gerald H. Westby Jr. Foundation
Gerald Holinbeck Westby Jr. ‘Gerry’, was born December 9, 1947 in Tulsa, OK to Kathleen Patton Westby and Gerald Holinbeck Westby Sr. Gerry graduated from Oklahoma University with a degree in history and remained for the rest of his life an AVID OU fan.
Although finance was his business, art was Gerry’s passion. He had the innate ability to see and express the world from a fresh, abstract perspective. This, coupled with his renegade nature, evolved into a unique artistic expression.
Generous and kind, he was a funny man, a consummate prankster always quick with a laugh or a joke and his humor and unique perspective was reflected in his art. He also had a deep fondness for animals. Gerry maintained a home in Tulsa but lived most of his later years at the family home on Grand Lake, producing vast amounts of artwork and establishing a web- site – - to showcase some of his favorites. Although the website is no longer online, his art may be viewed in this gallery.
Gerry continued the family tradition of civic involvement, serving on various arts and cultural boards in Northeastern Oklahoma.
